PROVIDENCE. RI (November 14, 2003)
A ceremony was held in the rotunda at the RI State House Friday morning, November 14, 2003 in honor of America Recycles Day. The RI School's Recycling Club recognized five RI schools for their outstanding recycling efforts. The following dignitaries were in attendance, from left to right; Terry Gray, Assistant Director of the RI Department of Environmental Management; Guy Lefebvre, President of the Environment Council of RI Education Fund; John Trevor, Recycling Program Manager at the RI Resource Recovery Corporation; Mrs. Suzanne Carcieri, Rhode Island's First Lady; and Arlene Violet, WHJJ Radio talk show host.

In addition to receiving an award for exceptional recycling efforts, the town of East Greenwich, RI, was presented with the RI Schools Recycling Club's "Leadership Award." Henri Boezi, the town's Recycling Supervisor, accepted the Award on behalf of the town. Seated on the steps are students of Eldridge Elementary School.
